About Us
Having known by the tender age of 14 years that I wanted to work with children I studied 2 years NNEB in Scotland. A course devoted to child development, psychology, planning and implementing programmes in centres. I then jumped into the world of child care. I have worked as a nanny all around the world. Maternity nurse in London, after school care co-ordinator, Early childhood teacher, In home educator and becoming a mum was the icing on the cake. 21 years in all working in the childcare industry.
I have been running Activecare childcare agency since June 2003 catering for babysitting and has expanded year after year to accommodate the growing need in the Wakatipu area for quality childcare. We now run “Fun 4 Kidz” the mother agency to “activecare” childcare agency, ”Konference Kidz” and “Kidz party planners” with an approx 25 carers in summer and 40 carers in the winter caring for many children of all ages. Some of the qualities I look for in a childcarer are: common sense, active, fun, confident knowledgeable about children`s needs, a good understanding of English. All carers have the support from me at all times of day/night when at a job. I thrive on letting children be children, giving them the tools and opportunities to learn about their environment and world in a safe and fun way.
We aim to provide child carers who really want to be with children.
